COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) - The Latest on the Sunday shooting of an Idaho pastor who spoke Saturday at a Ted Cruz rally (all times local):

4:30 p.m.

Police in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, say they have no motive for the shooting of an Idaho pastor who gave the invocation at a weekend campaign rally for Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz.

Police Chief Lee White says the Sunday shooting of Pastor Tim Remington could have been worse because the suspect was armed while in church.

Remington gave the invocation at a Cruz rally in Coeur d’Alene on Saturday.

Remington was shot six times outside his church and remains in fair condition in a hospital. He is expected to recover.

White says suspect Kyle Andrew Odom drove west immediately after the shooting to nearby Spokane, Washington, then headed south and police lost his trail.

Police say Odom, a decorated former Marine, has no criminal record but has a history of mental illness.

Officials say Pastor Tim Remington was shot as many as six times, including in the head and lung, but is expected to pull through. Altar Church outreach Pastor John Padula spoke with Remington’s doctors and says the 55-year-old Remington is doing well.

Police say they have identified and are searching for a suspect but don’t yet know of a motive.

Remington was shot just before 2 p.m. Sunday, the day after praying with Cruz in Coeur d’Alene.

Padula says Remington has been threatened several times by drug addicts he tried to help through his faith-based recovery program.
