CHESTER, S.C. (AP) - Two people have died after a logging truck and a van collided on state Highway 9 west of Chester.

Authorities told local media that the van crossed the center line of the highway on a curve and hit the truck around 8 a.m. Monday.

Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker said the driver of the van was 51-year-old Jacky David Blalock Jr. of Lancaster.

The truck driver was 62-year-old Clyde Mike Davis of Clover.

The van caught fire after the crash, although Blalock had been thrown from the vehicle.

The road was closed for about eight hours after the wreck.
