BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A board overseeing the Baton Rouge Community College says it will do a national search for the college’s next chancellor.

The board of supervisors for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System announced the search on Thursday.

The board hopes to have a recommended candidate by mid-December. The chancellor search will be managed by the Association of Community College Trustees.

Currently Dennis Michaelis is serving as interim chancellor. He was appointed last July.

The college serves about 20,000 students in credit, non-credit and adult education programs and offers more than 70 degree, certificate, and certified training programs. It works with businesses to tailor its programs to meet industry needs.
