SHELTON, Conn. (AP) - The parents of a Connecticut high school student who was killed in a car crash in February are asking the school to grant him an honorary degree.

Seventeen-year-old Edmund Conklin died in a rollover crash in Shelton. He was a senior at Shelton High School.

His parents tell WVIT-TV (http://bit.ly/1qg5eIS ) that they want the school to award the degree in his honor at graduation on June 10.

Barbara and Ed Conklin say they’ve been trying to accomplish this for more than two months and have received the runaround from school and district officials.

The superintendent says the district is working with the family.
