BASS RIVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Firefighters are getting the upper hand on a forest fire in southern New Jersey.

Crews were called to scene in Burlington County Thursday night in Bass River Township.

Police say more than 450 acres are involved in the blaze.

Officials say the fire is about 60 percent contained and that no residences are at risk.
