PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan says she will expand blood testing for people who were exposed to dangerous chemicals at the former Pease Air Force Base.

The Portsmouth Herald reports (http://bit.ly/249ELtM ) Hassan said in a written response to three area mothers who formed the Testing for Pease Community group that the state will work to make blood testing available to potentially exposed people who want testing but haven’t yet received it.

The city of Portsmouth closed the Pease base’s Haven well in May 2014 after high levels of perfluorooctane sulfonic acid were found in its water supply.

Hassan says the state is taking immediate action to expand its distribution of bottled water to communities whose water has been contaminated with PFCs.
