PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - National Forest officials say all 148 parking spaces at Fossil Creek in Arizona have been reserved for each day of Memorial Day weekend.

The Daily Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1sT1cIw ) that Coconino and Tonto National Forests have required visitors to use an only reservation system for parking at Fossil Creek since May 1. Officials say people without reservations for the long weekend should look for somewhere else to enjoy the forest.

The Forest Service says people who want to visit Fossil Creek at a different time can buy a $6 permit online for the “Fossil Creek Wild and Scenic River AZ,” which guarantees a parking space for a single day.

Permits are only required from May 1 to October 1 in 2016. Next year, they will be required beginning in April.
