LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. (AP) - A 19-year-old western New York man is facing manslaughter and other charges after a fatal hit and run crash.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says Cyrus Spruce of Steamburg is accused of speeding through the town of Redhouse on Sunday when his minivan hit two parked cars and a man standing near one of them.

Deputies say Spruce drove off without stopping to help 23-year-old Watson Cooper of Salamanca, who died later at a hospital.

Spruce was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree manslaughter and first-degree assault. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.
