GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say two more students have been charged in connection with an accidental shooting earlier this month at a Greenville high school.

Greenville County deputies said in a news release that a 16-year-old student picked up the gun after it fired May 13, but didn’t immediately turn it over to police or administrators, instead only giving up the weapon to a deputy at a school exit who was searching everyone as they left.

Deputies say a second 16-year-old student is charged after selling the gun to another teen off campus.

A 17-year-old was charged with bringing the gun to school after the shooting, and the 16-year-old student who shot himself in the stomach in the cafeteria also faces charges. All the students also face possible expulsion from school.
