NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - No. 3 seeded Oklahoma held off a late rally by No. 14 Louisiana-Lafayette to defeat the Ragin’ Cajuns 7-6 in the NCAA softball Norman Super Regional.

OU wins the best-of-three regional two-games-to-none and advances to the Women’s College World Series that begins June 2 in Oklahoma City.

The Sooners scored once in the fifth, twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to take a 7-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh before the Ragin’ Cajuns’ Kelsey Vincent hit a three-run homer to cut the lead to one.

A walk then put the tying run on first base for ULL before OU pitcher Paige Parker recorded the final out.

OU improves to 52-7 on the season while Louisiana-Lafayette’s season ends at 46-9.
