DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Bail has been reduced for a Dothan man suspected of killing his girlfriend after an autopsy indicated the victim died by suicide.

The Dothan Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1O0wGW7) 37-year-old James Morris Johnson Jr. was charged with murder in the death of 36-year-old Tanisha Norton, who was found shot to death inside her home March 3.

Johnson, who was wanted as a person of interest, was arrested March 11.

A judge set bail at $50,000 after granting a request from Johnson’s attorney Matt Lamere.

Lamere said he found out through prosecutor Doug Valeska that the original autopsy listed the cause of death as suicide, but was later amended to say undetermined.

Lamere also said he’d learned a major component of DNA found on the trigger of the weapon belonged to the victim.
