NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City mother has been acquitted of charges that she threated to bomb her daughter’s school last year.

Karen Shearon was found not guilty on Thursday of a misdemeanor aggravated harassment charge.

She told the Staten Island Advance (http://bit.ly/1WaZHB5 ) in a brief telephone interview that “justice was served.”

Shearon, who had two children in Susan Wagner High School at the time, said the Feb. 3, 2015 incident ruined her and her children’s lives.

A court complaint had said she allegedly told a high school guidance counselor she was “going to blow up the school.” The remark allegedly was made on the phone when the counselor called to discuss her daughter’s grades.

Shearon says the counselor called her at work repeatedly that day.
