GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - A suspect in the shooting death of a man in Gadsden has been taken into custody.

Gadsden Police Capt. Paul Cody tells the Gadsden Times (http://bit.ly/1SS9B4I) that Brandon Lamar Marshall was arrested Wednesday night in Anniston.

Police say Marshall is a suspect in the death of 43-year-old Brandon Omar Kirkland, who was shot multiple times Wednesday afternoon. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Marshall is being held at the Etowah County Detention Center. Cody says authorities expect to charge him in the shooting death later Thursday. Marshall faces an unrelated charge from Anniston police.

The investigation continues. Cody says he doesn’t expect anyone else to be charged in connection with the case.
