COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - A north-central Missouri man has been sentenced to life in prison after admitting his role in killing a 92-year-old woman during a 2013 crime spree.

The Columbia Daily Tribune (https://bit.ly/1s33xAl) reports that 21-year-old Christopher D. Lewis was sentenced Wednesday in Boone County.

Lewis pleaded guilty to 19 felonies that included first-degree murder, assault, robbery and armed criminal action.

Lewis admitted his role in killing Carmelita Kaser by hitting her with a machete-like weapon at her Moberly home on Easter Sunday in 2013. Lewis also acknowledged shooting two men in Huntsville and assaulting another woman during separate incidents at that time.

A co-defendant is scheduled for trial in September.
