WASHINGTON (AP) - Streets in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood are closed for the Taste of Georgetown event.

Taste of Georgetown is taking place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 30 restaurants will be serving different bites of their cuisines. The event, which takes place under the Whitehurst Freeway, benefits Georgetown Ministry Center’s homeless assistance programs. Organizers say on their website that more than 8,500 people are expected to attend.

Police say street closures in the area will last from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Portions of K Street and 31st Street will be closed.
