RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada officials say Reno’s air quality is currently unhealthy for some people but may be cleared out by an evening storm.

Washoe County’s Air Management Division tells the Reno Gazette-Journal (http://on.rgj.com/2dNx63o ) that Reno’s air quality was unhealthy for some as of 6 a.m. Thursday. Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says smoke from a prescribed burn in El Dorado County contributed to the poor air quality.

Washoe County says people with heart or lung disease, older adults and children should limit prolonged or heavy exertion.

The National Weather Service says strong winds are expected Thursday night and are expected to continue at 25 to 30 mph through Friday.
