COLONIE, N.Y. (AP) - A 41-year-old upstate New York woman has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, accused of causing a crash that killed a teenage girl.

Jessica Bellerose of Troy also is charged with driving while intoxicated and two minor traffic infractions.

State police say Bellerose was eastbound Tuesday evening on State Route 7 north of Albany when her car struck another eastbound vehicle and crossed the median. She collided with westbound vehicles operated by 58-year-old Jeffrey Gaul of Rensselaer and 18-year-old Paige Ahearn of Waterford. Ahearn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bellerose, who suffered a head injury, was released from Albany Medical Center Hospital on Thursday and arraigned in Colonie Town Court.

The Times Union of Albany reports (http://bit.ly/2dQuu8y ) that $75,000 bail was posted. Bellerose didn’t speak, but her attorney says she’s “devastated.”
