COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a Columbus homeowner opened fire on four men who had just burglarized his home, wounding at least one suspect.

The Ledger-Enquirer (http://bit.ly/2eE6C80 ) reports that the man came home Monday afternoon and saw two unfamiliar vehicles in his driveway and four men leaving his residence. The man told investigators he feared for his life and fired his pistol at them about a dozen times.

Police say two men drove away, while the two others ran. Authorities found a 17-year-old nearby suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head. The suspect was charged with burglary and two firearms possession charges. Three others remain at large.

Police say $1,000 in cash, a 42-inch television and a shotgun were stolen. They do not expect to charge the homeowner.
