“The View” co-host Joy Behar argued Thursday that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump should be charged with sedition after Hillary Clinton inevitably wins the presidency.

The show’s female co-hosts were discussing Wednesday night’s third and final presidential debate in which Mr. Trump declined to say whether he would respect the results of the election.

“Everyone’s talking about how it undermines democracy, but he’s been doing that all along,” Ms. Behar said, according to a clip obtained by Breitbart News. “He’s been praising dictators. He praises [Syrian President Bashar al-Assad], who used chemical weapons on his people. He basically disses our country and our president.”

The comedian went on to claim that Mrs. Clinton is “going to win” the election because Mr. Trump “basically is a traitor.”

“He should be brought up on charges of sedition,” she said before reading a definition of the word.

“Sedition definition: ‘Conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or a monarch,’” she said. “I think that making jokes about assassinating your fellow nominee, Hillary Clinton, is the definition of sedition. If you look on Twitter, all these people are coming out of the woodwork making anti-Semitic tweets, racist tweets. He has incited sedition. He should be brought up on charges.”

Asked during Wednesday night’s debate whether he would respect the Election Day results, Mr. Trump said he would have to “look at it” when the time came. Mrs. Clinton called that prospect “horrifying” and accused him of “talking down our democracy.”

Mr. Trump thumbed his nose at the ensuing backlash, telling a crowd in Ohio Thursday that he would respect the election’s outcome “if I win.”
