PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on a Phoenix homicide case involving a crashed car (all times local):

9:10 a.m.

Phoenix police say two men whose bullet-riddled bodies were found in a crashed car likely were shot within a few blocks of where the vehicle smashed into a low wall outside a home early Monday morning.

Police Lt. Paul Taylor says multiple apparent bullet holes were found in the driver’s side of the car but that police have no witnesses or suspects as they begin their investigation.

Taylor also says police haven’t yet identified the dead men who appear to be Hispanics ages 20 to 30.

People who live in the home had called 911 to report the car crash but Taylor says responding police and firefighters immediately realized the victims had been shot.

8:15 a.m.

Authorities say two people found dead at the scene of a crashed car in southwest Phoenix had been shot.

Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Rob McDade says the two people found dead early Monday morning had multiple gunshot wounds, and police Lt. Paul Taylor says the case is being investigated as a homicide.

A police command van and multiple police personnel were at the scene in a residential neighborhood in the area of South 31st Avenue and West Pierce Street.

Video from the scene showed a car crashed into a block wall just outside of a home.

6:45 a.m.

Phoenix police are conducting a homicide investigation into the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside a crashed car.

News outlets report that the bodies were found in a car that smashed into a wall.

Police Lt. Paul Taylor says incident occurred early Monday morning in a residential neighborhood west of Interstate 17 and south of Interstate 10 on the city’s west side.

No additional information is immediately available.
