BELLE ISLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say one of the two men fatally shot near a central Florida school earlier this week was a suspect in a fatal Orlando club shooting in February.

News outlets report that 21-year-old Luis Cruz-Nazario was set to go on trial in October on second-degree murder charges in the shooting deaths of two men at Glitz Ultra Lounge in February. Ten others were also injured in that shooting.

Belle Isle police say Cruz-Nazario and 24-year-old Emanuel Castro-Vazquez were found shot dead inside a car Wednesday morning near Cornerstone Charter Academy.

Cruz-Nazario had been released from the Orange County Jail on Aug. 17.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Rosel Silva could not confirm whether the Belle Isle shooting had anything to do with the nightclub killings.
