VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - A citywide boil water notice has been lifted in Vicksburg after a storm knocked out power to the city’s water wells.

Mayor George Flaggs says in a statement that the order was lifted Friday. The city had issued a boil water warning overnight Monday after power lines serving city wills were damaged. Water was restored to all customers by Wednesday morning.

The Mississippi Department of Health had to test and approve samples before the order could be lifted.
