WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police are investigating after a 16-year-old was shot.

Police say the shooting occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police say officers were dispatched to the 300 block of W. 24th Street for a report of shots fired. When they arrived they found a 16-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to his left foot. Police say the victim was treated on scene and taken to a nearby hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
