CENTRAL

BASTROP: Water stained; 86-90 degrees. Black bass are good on topwaters, and on watermelon crankbaits and soft plastics. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON: Water stained; 84-88 degrees; 0.01 feet high. Black bass are good on pumpkinseed crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps over grass. Hybrid striper are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs, stinkbait, and liver. Yellow catfish are fair on live shad.

BROWNWOOD: Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 1.08 feet low. Black bass are very good on redbug and watermelon red Shaky Heads with Grande Bass Baby Rattlesnakes, and on topwaters late. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and Rat-L-Traps under lights at night. Crappie are fair on white Li’l Fishies and black/chartreuse tube jigs in 10-15 feet. Channel catfish are good on cut bait over baited holes. Yellow catfish are fair on droplines baited with perch in 5-15 feet.

BUCHANAN: Water stained; 84-88 degrees; 0.27 feet low. Black bass are fair on tequila sunrise JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, chartreuse Rat-L-Traps, and blue shad flukes on flats early. Striped bass are good on plastic swim baits and drifting live bait at first light. White bass are fair jigging Tiny Traps in the river channel. Crappie are good on chartreuse tube jigs and live minnows. Channel catfish are good on minnows and dipbait. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on goldfish and perch upriver.

CANYON LAKE: Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 0.18 feet low. Black bass are good on watermelon Rat-L-Traps, JDC Skip-N-Pops, and Pop R’s over grass along ledges. Striped bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits over humps early. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are good on watermelon red JDC grubs, topwaters, and craws at daylight. Crappie are fair on chartreuse crappie jigs and live minnows over brush upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on trotlines and juglines baited with goldfish and perch.

COLEMAN: Water stained; 86-90 degrees; 1.32 feet low. Black bass are good on watermelon topwaters, soft plastics, and Rat-L-Traps. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) No report available.

FAYETTE: Water murky. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad, nightcrawlers, and shrimp over baited holes.

GRANBURY: Water stained; 88-92 degrees; 0.14 feet low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait, shrimp, and minnows.

GRANGER: Water stained; 87-91 degrees; 0.83 feet high. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastic worms and crankbaits. White bass are fair on spoons along the roadbed near the dam early and late. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs over brush piles in 4-12 feet. Blue catfish are good drifting shad near the dam. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

LBJ: Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 0.75 feet low. Black bass are good on watermelon red Whacky Sticks, chartreuse Curb’s jigs, and pumpkinseed tubes in 8-15 feet early. Striped bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and Spoiler Shads at night. White bass are fair on minnows and Li’l Fishies at night. Crappie are good on chartreuse tube jigs and live minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on shrimp, liver, and stinkbait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.

NAVARRO MILLS: Water stained; 86-90 degrees; 0.02 feet high. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps in Liberty Hill Park. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

PROCTOR: Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 0.93 feet low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on minnows and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.

SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 87-91 degrees; 2.90 feet high. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are fair on silver striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

STILLHOUSE HOLLOW: Water murky; 85-89 degrees; 0.20 feet high. Black bass are fair on white Rat-L-Traps and spinnerbaits. White bass are fair on minnows and slabs. Crappie are good on minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on minnows, shrimp, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.

TRAVIS: Water stained; 86-90 degrees; 0.44 feet low. Black bass are good on chartreuse topwaters, soft plastic worms and lizards, and smoke grubs in 10-20 feet. Striped bass are fair on silver striper jigs. White bass are fair on chrome spoons and Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG: Water murky. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.

WHITNEY: Water stained; 86-90 degrees; 4.10 feet low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on minnows and nightcrawlers.

NORTHEAST

ATHENS: Water lightly stained; 82-84 degrees; 0.80 feet low. Black bass are good on topwaters, spinnerbaits and Texas rig worms. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are slow on trotlines and prepared bait.

BOB SANDLIN: Water lightly stained; 80-84 degrees; 0.69 feet low. Black bass are fair on topwaters, shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on rod and reel.

BONHAM: Water lightly stained; 80-84 degrees; 2.03 feet low. Black bass are good on topwaters, frogs, and buzzbaits. Jigs, shakyheads and Texas rig worms are effective under boat docks. Crappie are good on boat docks. Catfish are good on cut bait.

BRIDGEPORT: Water lightly stained, 81-84 degrees: 0.18 feet high. Black bass are good on shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and white jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

CADDO: Water stained to muddy; 81-85 degrees; 0.45 feet high. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged creature baits, black buzzbaits and hollow body frogs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on trotlines and prepared bait.

CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 80-84 degrees; 1.12 feet low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged worms, topwater poppers and shakyheads near docks and shallow cover. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines and cut shad.

COOPER: Water stained to muddy; 1.95 feet low. No report available.

FAIRFIELD: Black bass fishing reported as significantly improved. TPWD discontinued stocking the lake after the fish kill in September 2011. Redfish survived the kill in limited numbers.

FORK: Water stained; 81-85 degrees; 1.58 feet low. Black bass are good on white buzzbaits, hollow body frogs and football jigs. White and yellow bass are good on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse jigs. Catfish are fair on trotlines and prepared bait.

GRAPEVINE: Water lightly stained; 80-84 degrees; 0.14 feet high. Black bass are slow on topwaters, shad pattern shallow crankbaits and shakyheads. White bass and hybrid bass are fair on slabs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on trotlines.

JOE POOL: Water lightly stained; 82-85 degrees; 0.92 feet low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged worms, shallow crankbaits and wake baits. White bass are fair on slabs and minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

LAKE O’ THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 80-84 degrees: 2.03 feet high. Black bass are good on buzz frogs, buzzbaits and Texas rigged craws. White bass are good on slabs and topwaters. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines and cut shad.

LAVON: Water stained; 81-84 degrees: 2.60 feet low. Black bass are fair on black buzzbaits, green pumpkin flipping jigs and Texas rigged craws. White bass are fair on slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines.

LEWISVILLE: Water lightly stained; 81-84 degrees; 0.45 feet low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged craws, shallow crankbaits and topwaters. White bass are good on slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and prepared bait.

SOUTH

AMISTAD: Water murky; 88-92 degrees; 19.12 feet low. Black bass are fair on watermelon topwaters, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on cheesebait, stinkbait, and nightcrawlers over baited holes. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

BRAUNIG: Water murky. Black bass are fair on watermelon topwaters and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair down rigging silver and gold spoons near the dam. Redfish are fair on perch and shad. Channel catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.

CALAVERAS: Water murky. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on silver spoons and striper jigs near the dam. Redfish are good on crawfish and tilapia along the shoreline. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp, stinkbait, and shad near the discharge. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON: Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 19.01 feet low. Black bass are fair on watermelon/red flake soft plastics and spinnerbaits in 10-18 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on live bait. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch and goldfish.

COLETO CREEK: Water stained; 100 degrees at the hot water discharge, 89 degrees in main lake; 1.31 feet low. Black bass to 5.5 pounds are good on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in 8-10 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on live minnows and tube jigs near Coletoville Bridge in 8-12 feet. Tilapia are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 7 pounds are good on live perch and cut bait in 8-12 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

FALCON: Water murky; 88-92 degrees; 31.85 feet low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse/black crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on frozen shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow. SOUTHEAST

CONROE: Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 0.14 feet low. Black bass are good on watermelon/blue flake soft plastics and small spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Catfish are slow.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water stained. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Carolina rigged soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water stained; 84-88 degrees; 0.03 feet low. Black bass to 6 pounds are good on topwaters, shad colored shallow diving crankbaits, and blue flake worms at drop offs. Crappie are very good on live minnows near brush. Bream are very good on live worms around stumps near the islands. Channel and blue catfish are good on juglines baited with perch.

LIVINGSTON: Water stained; 86-90 degrees; 0.10 high. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are very good on silver striper jigs and Rat-L-Traps. White bass are fair on troll tubes, slabs, and pet spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 1.32 feet low. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastic worms with chartreuse tails, and on white/chartreuse spinnerbaits. White bass are good on silver spoons and chartreuse spinnerbaits off points. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Bream are good on nightcrawlers. Catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.

OAK CREEK: Water stained; 84-88 degrees; 11.03 feet low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs, drop shot rigs and jigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on chartreuse (use Worn-Glo) nightcrawlers.

White bass are fair to good on Little Georges. Striped bass are fair on live shad. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cur bait.

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Redfish are good in the marsh on Stanley Ribbits and weedless soft plastics. Trout are fair to good under slicks and birds on topwaters and soft plastics.

SOUTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good under birds and pods of shad. Trout are good at the jetty on live bait and topwaters. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs and table shrimp.

BOLIVAR: Trout, bull redfish, black drum, sand trout and redfish are good at Rollover Pass. Bull redfish and sharks are good on the beach near Rollover Pass.

TRINITY BAY: Redfish are good on the north shoreline on gold spoons and small topwaters. Redfish are good in the marsh on shrimp. Trout are fair to good around the wells on live bait.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are good over reefs while working slicks with soft plastics. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp. Redfish are good in the marsh on natural baits and Gulps.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Bull redfish are good in the surf and at San Luis Pass on crabs and mullet. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetties on shrimp and crabs.

TEXAS CITY: Bull redfish are good in the channel on crabs and mullet. Sand trout and Gulf trout are good in the channel on shrimp. Redfish are fair to good in Moses Lake on crabs and shrimp.

FREEPORT: Bull redfish are good on live bait and crabs on the Surfside beach. Black drum and redfish are good on the reefs in Christmas and Bastrop bays on live shrimp.

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are good in Lake Austin on shrimp. Trout are fair to good over mud while wading with scented baits.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout are fair on sand and grass humps on soft plastics and topwaters. Redfish are good on live shrimp in Oyster Lake, Crab Lake and Shell Island. Trout are good in the surf when the wind allows.

PORT O’CONNOR: Bull redfish are good in the surf and at the jetty on natural baits. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp and topwaters. Trout are good on live bait over reefs in San Antonio Bay.

ROCKPORT: Redfish are fair to good on mullet near Traylor Island. Trout are fair around Mud Island and Allyn’s Bight on small topwaters and soft plastics under corks.

PORT ARANSAS: Bull redfish are good at the jetty on table shrimp and crabs. Trout and sand trout are good in the channel on shrimp. Trout are good on topwaters on Super Flats.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Bull redfish are good in the channels on crabs and table shrimp. Redfish are good on the shallow flats on gold spoons and small topwaters. Bull redfish are good in the Packery Channel on crabs, mullet and shrimp.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout and redfish are good on topwaters and Gulps around rocks and grass. Redfish are fair to good at Yarborough on gold spoons and topwaters. Redfish are good around the spoils on scented baits and small topwaters.

PORT MANSFIELD: Redfish are good while drifting pot holes on topwaters and soft plastics under a popping cork. Trout are good on topwaters around sand pockets and grass.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout, redfish and snook are fair to good on the flats on live shrimp under a popping cork. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs and mullet.

PORT ISABEL: Trout and redfish are fair to good while drifting sand and grass flats on live shrimp, DOA Shrimp and Gulps under popping corks. Redfish are good while drifting Cullen Bay on plastics under a cork.
