Amid growing backlash against the first family’s business empire, Ivanka Trump merchandise was relabeled as Adrienne Vittadini Studio at discount retailer Stein Mart, according to a Business of Fashion report.

G-III Apparel Group, which owns the right to manufacture and distribute the Ivanka Trump brand, told the website that it sold the rebranded merchandise to Stein Mart without the first daughter’s brand’s knowledge.

“G-III accepts responsibility for resolving this issue, which occurred without the knowledge or consent of the Ivanka Trump organization,” G-III said in a statement. “G-III has already begun to take corrective actions, including facilitating the immediate removal of any mistakenly labelled merchandise from its customer. The Ivanka Trump brand continues to grow and remains very strong.”

It is unclear whether the relabeled merchandise was sold to other retailers.

Stein Mart Chief Executive D. Hunt Hawkins acknowledged the retailer’s participation in the switch, but said the decision to carry the relabeled products was not politically motivated, Business of Fashion reported.

“We’ve had both labels for a while. We may see more Adrienne Vittadini in the short term,” he said. “I’ve had an equal number of [customers] say that they don’t want and do want [the Ivanka Trump merchandise] in the store.”

Authentic Brands Group, which licenses Adrienne Vittadini, declined to comment for Business of Fashion’s story.

The news comes on the heels of the national #GrabYourWallet movement, co-founded by Shannon Coulter, to boycott all things Trump. Nordstrom announced on Feb. 2 that it would stop selling Ivanka Trump products due to poor sales performance, and Neiman Marcus, Belk, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls soon followed suit.

A source within Stein Mart told Business of Fashion that the retailer has received criticism for carrying Ivanka Trump merchandise, and that one angry customer spit on a blouse in front of a cashier before storming out of the store.
