LAYTON, Utah (AP) - The Latest on the theft of a car with young children inside (all times local):

11:25 a.m.

Layton police have identified a man who allegedly stole a car with two young children inside and then dropped off the kids after noticing them.

Police say 26-year-old Tyler Allen Williams has several outstanding warrants, is considered a fugitive and is wanted on multiple felony charges in the Friday incident in Layton.

Sgt. Clint Bobrowski says a vehicle stolen previously in the Taylorsville area was found near the Layton location where the car with the children inside was stolen Friday.

And Bobrowski says the car stolen Friday has been located in West Valley City.

Layton police are looking for a man who stole a car with two young children inside and then dropped off the kids after noticing them.

Police say officers pursued the stolen vehicle Friday but terminated their pursuit when the stolen vehicle started going over 100 mph.

According to police, the suspect drove off after fighting with the children’s father and the mother was knocked down by the moving car.

The suspect stopped nearby to drop off the kids. They’re OK but that the suspect remains at large and the car hasn’t been found.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 25-30 years old, 6 feet with a dark pony tail and tattoos on an arm and cheek.

Police say the car is a white Toyota Corolla with Utah plate X923ZU.
