- The Washington Times - Thursday, January 19, 2017

It’s not a surprise John Wall will have to continue to wait to see if he has made his fourth consecutive All-Star Game.

The starters for the NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans on Feb. 19 were announced Thursday night. Wall cracked the top five in player and media voting, but not in the more heavily weighted fan voting. The league used a new voting system this season, counting fan votes as 50 percent of the total, and media and player voting as 25 percent. Wall was fourth among Eastern Conference guards in the players voting and fifth in the media voting.

He should have a good chance at being named a reserve. If Wall makes his fourth consecutive All-Star Game, he will become just the fifth player in the Wizards organization to make at least four All-Star Game appearances. The others are Walt Bellamy, Gus Johnson, Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes. The reserves will be announced Jan. 26.

One thing that is clear: Wall will again be traveling alone to the game. Sort of. Wizards mascot G-Wiz also makes an annual appearance.

Here is the voting breakdown for the starters in both conferences:
