MEDINA, N.Y. (AP) - Maddie Williams still can’t believe it.

The sophomore guard at Medina High School in western New York made a state-record 16 shots from three-point range against non-league foe Holley on Monday night.

Williams made 3-pointers in every quarter - five in both the first and fourth quarters and three in both the second and third. She finished with a career-high 54 points and also had 11 steals and 10 rebounds for a triple-double.

The previous state record of 15 3-pointers in a game was set in 2008 by Courtney Galuski of Cohoes, according to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

The national high school record for 3-pointers made in a girls game is 17, set in 2013 by Rebecca Greenwell, now a star at Duke.
