SINKHOLE IN LAND O' LAKES SWALLOWS HOME, THREATENS OTHERS

The sinkhole that opened up Friday morning in Land O' Lakes quickly swallowed one home, consumed about 80 percent of another and threatened a third home as it continued to grow slowly. Eleven homes have been evacuated. Property appraiser records show sinkholes previously were stabilized at both properties.

FOUNDING MEMBER OF MIAMI RAP GROUP 2 LIVE CREW DIES

Christopher Wong Won, a founding member of the Miami hip-hop group 2 Live Crew whose sexually explicit lyrics triggered a national debate over the legal limits of artistic freedom, has died at the age of 53. The group’s manager, DJ Debo, said Wong Won, known as Fresh Kid Ice, died Thursday at a Veterans Affairs hospital in Miami as a result of ongoing medical conditions.

MAN ARRESTED FOR CALLING POLICE 98 TIMES IN ONE DAY

Clearwater police said in a Facebook post that Michael Mott called the department’s communication center 98 times Monday trying to get money that was seized during a drug arrest in January. He was charged with making harassing telephone calls.

SKYDIVER TOLD WIFE HE WASN’T GOING TO PULL SAFETY CORD

Capotorto Vitantonio’s wife ran into Sky Dive DeLand Tuesday after receiving the video and begged an employee to stop her husband. The employee radioed up to the plane, but it was too late. Vitantonio had already jumped and was later found dead.

RACCOON GETS BUSY IN BACKSEAT OF CONVERTIBLE

Employees at an auto detailing shop in Florida’s Manatee County first discovered the mother, who crawled through a plastic cover on the car’s window. She gave birth to two babies. All three were later released into the wild.
