NEW YORK (AP) - Police in New York City have released the identities of two women killed after two men with guns opened fire on a crowd in Brooklyn.

Police say it happened at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when two men fired shots at a large crowd in the courtyard of a Bedford-Stuyvesant public housing complex.

Police say 21-year-old Chynna Battle was shot in the head and a 29-year-old Shaqwanda Staley was wounded in the back. The Brooklyn women were hospitalized and later died.

No arrests have been made.
