PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on a rescue of two hikers on Camelback Mountain (all times local):

12:15 p.m.

Phoenix firefighters have rescued two hikers who got stuck on Camelback Mountain.

News video showed firefighters rappelling down a nearly vertical area of the mountain with the two hikers one by one to rescue crews waiting in a somewhat flatter area.

Fire Capt. Jake Van Hook earlier described the hikers as dehydrated, faint and unable to climb down the mountain on their own.

Camelback is a popular hiking and climbing area.

Fire Capt. Jake Van Hook described the hikers as dehydrated, faint and unable to climb down the mountain on their own.

A live video feed shows that firefighters have reached one of the hikers, who is above the other hiker on what appears to be a nearly vertical area of the mountain.

Camelback is a popular hiking and climbing area.
