I love this guy. He has so much good and true to say about vocation. — “Mike Rowe Stumps for Career and Tech Ed

National Religious Broadcasters had their big convention last week, this time down in Orlando. They announced that they elected “Don Wildmon, founder of American Family Radio, into their Hall of Fame.”

Also during the convention, Jerry Johnson, President and CEO of the NRB talked about how Christians’ Freedom Is Being Challenged by Homosexuality and Islam.

The lawyers who produce the don’t-miss podcast “Lawyers for Jesus” wrote this good piece asking, Does Religious Liberty Have a Friend in soon-to-be Justice Gorsuch?

I read that one of the speechwriters for Trump is Vince Haley. “The senior White House official said Vince Haley, a Trump speechwriter, had come up with the idea of framing the speech around the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.”

Haley was the producer of a fantastic documentary you need to watch, “Nine Days that Changed the World” — about Pope John Paul’s historic trip to Soviet Poland in 1979.

Finally, don’t miss reading this piece about Oklahoma Senator Lankford talking about Answering God’s Call.” It is so past time for us to start tearing down the false wall of separation between “sacred and secular” in our thinking about vocation.

Lankford says: “For all of the disciples, Jesus used one simple phrase to call them: ‘Come follow me.’  …It wasn’t a calling to an occupation, to a place or a task. It was a calling to a person, and each of them had to make a decision to follow.”
