Last night at Comcast Center:

QUOTABLE

“Regardless of either one of our records, it’s been a good game going back to [former Virginia coach] Terry Holland and [former Maryland coach] Lefty Driesell.”

— Terps coach Gary Williams on the series.

KEY TO THE GAME

Maryland survived a mismatch against Virginia center Elton Brown by rotating three defenders on him. The Terps steadily picked up fouls against Brown, but only Ekene Ibekwe fouled out with 4:22 remaining.

SEEN AND HEARD

IN THE HOUSE: It was a strong showing by the student section, given it’s semester break and bad weather. There were fewer empty seats than at Saturday afternoon’s game against Temple.

BACK HOME: Former Terps guard Steve Blake drew a large ovation when he was introduced at center court as honorary captain.

CLARK OUT: Virginia forward Jason Clark (6.7 points, 5.2 rebounds) will miss the rest of the season for academic reasons. Clark missed half of last season for undisclosed reasons.
