Last night at Comcast Center:
KEY NUMBER
52.5Percent of field goals made by Maryland, its best this season against an ACC foe.
PLAY OF THE GAME
Point guard John Gilchrist found his way out of a pack of players at the defensive end and dribbled the length of the court before dishing to James Gist for a thunderous one-handed slam.
SEEN AND HEARD
WHERE IS EVERYBODY?: There were quite a few empty seats at Comcast Center — possibly the most for an ACC contest with school in session in the three-year history of the building. The students weren’t the only ones missing. There were plenty of red chairs visible in the rest of the arena as well. Those in attendance were pretty boisterous, delivering the first quality rendition of the season of “Rock and Roll, Part Two” without the band.
SPECIAL GUEST: Accompanying Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, a regular at courtside, was quarterback Kyle Boller, which prompted chants of “We-want-Ran-dy” and “Boller-to-Moss” from the students sitting behind the pair. The chants were in reference to Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss, whose antics reportedly have landed him on the trading block.
