Last night at St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa Bay:

VOTE EARLY, OFTEN

Pittsburgh fans have been busy stuffing the All-Star Game ballot box. Sidney Crosby continues to lead all vote-getters with 247,854, while teammate Evgeni Malkin is second at 156,469. Dropping to a distant third is Washington’s Alex Ovechkin with 112,501, with several others nipping at his heels.

BY THE NUMBERS

36 Seats installed on the blue line at St. Pete Times Forum, blocking the visiting team’s direct entrance to the ice from the dressing room. Net gain: $111,600 a season. Direct access to the ice for the home team is unchanged.

QUOTABLE

“We had a couple games where we had [Dainius] Zubrus’ line and then you couldn’t tell who was second, third or fourth. There was no focus, no matching, just trying to get Alex [Ovechkin] away from people.”
