Pittsburgh Pirates rookie outfielder and leadoff hitter Alex Presley was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals due to a left thumb contusion.
"I'm just trying to get on base, provide a spark and get us going," he said.
Presley said x-rays were not scheduled to be taken.
