    In a story March 14 about the death penalty in Tennessee, The Associated Press reported erroneously that that no American court has found electrocution to be a cruel and unusual punishment. While a 1997 federal court ruling said no U.S. court had made such a determination, at least two state courts have ruled since then that electrocution is a cruel and unusual punishment.
