Gay-rights activists pledged Thursday to reclaim Maine as a gay-marriage state by asking voters to vote in November for a ballot measure legalizing same-sex nuptials.
Gay-marriage supporters began laying the groundwork Thursday for another referendum on the issue, hoping to build on momentum from New York, which last week became the sixth state to allow same-sex marriage.
