After a hiccup at the start of the game, Virginia's defense mostly held its own against No. 16 TCU on Saturday. The Cavaliers' offense again couldn't generate anything significant in a 27-7 loss.

Virginia’s season has had no shortage of magical moments. Saturday night, the ante was raised.

Saturday is Virginia's homecoming weekend, and former center John St. Clair is on hand to have his jersey retired at halftime. The Cavaliers also are celebrating the 80th anniversary of Scott Stadium, which opened on this day in 1931.
"Neither of us wanted it to happen, but the fact that we rehabbed together and got better together, it made us closer," Schautz said. "It also allowed us to get better faster, because we pushed each other and competed."

"It's good to know that I'm not going to go against a better tackle all year," Schautz said.
