Blekko (self-styled as lowercase blekko) is a web search engine whose goal is to provide better search results than those offered by Google Search, by offering results culled from a set of 3 billion trusted websites and excluding material from such sites as content farms. The site, launched to the public on November 1, 2010, uses slashtags to provide results for common searches. - Source: Wikipedia
The makers of Blekko believe they've built a great alternative to Google, but they're also realistic. They know their two-year-old Internet search engine won't ever supplant Google as the most popular place to search on laptop and desktop computers.
Blekko, a Silicon Valley startup trying to build a spam-free search engine, is getting some love from Russia.
