'Your papers, please' must never be heard in America
Hundreds of Pentagon-related employers large and small are preparing to lay off thousands of employees as Congress takes a recess this week, so far unable to agree on how to undo automatic military spending cuts set to begin March 1.
A U.S. Marine awarded the nation's highest military honor is suing a defense contractor he says cost him a job by characterizing him as mentally unstable and having alcohol problems to a prospective employer.
"The cloud of uncertainty from sequestration already has had a profound impact on the way our industry is able to deploy its capital and invests in facilities, jobs and new product development," said BAE spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

"[I]f specific information becomes available that certain company facilities may suffer mass layoffs due to sequestration, we will issue WARN notices at that time as required by law," said Brian Roehrkasse, a spokesman for the company.
