Associated Press The House ethics committee investigating Rep. Charles B. Rangel hear a defense from the congressman's attorneys, who acknowledged "inadvertent" mistakes and blamed staffers for some errors.

Associated Press 'PUBLIC TRUST'? Rep. Charles B. Rangel was not present Thursday when the House ethics committee issued a 40-page "Statement of Alleged Violation" that broke down allegations against him into four categories.
