The passing of singer Eddie Fisher at age 82 reminds me of another era, when the singers were clean-shaven and had that "boy next door" look.

Eddie Fisher, whose huge fame as a pop singer was overshadowed by scandals ending his marriages to Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor, has died. He was 82.

Pop singer Eddie Fisher gained fame crooning love songs like "I'm Yours" and "Thinking of You" to teenage girls in the early 1950s. But his life was overshadowed by drug use, gambling and failed marriages to actresses Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor.
