In a world in which sectarian divisions fuel some of the most violent confrontations, the interfaith movement has emerged as a force in American religion like never before.
Daniel Spiro, one of the Jewish participants and a Department of Justice attorney, said such meetings are essential for world peace.
"In an era where many people are turned off by God, Muslims are some of the most devout lovers of God I've found," he said. "It's like mining for diamonds, and you'll find diamonds in Islam."
