Avoiding a negative reaction and potentially ugly scene, the Cleveland Browns will honor a request by Art Modell's family and not acknowledge the former owner's death before Sunday's season opener.
Former Baltimore Ravens owner Art Modell has died. He was 87.
Fans of HGTV's "If Walls Could Talk" are familiar with tales of homeowners finding hidden treasures as they explore their newly purchased home or property that has been held in their family for generations.
David Modell said he and his brother, John, were at their father's side when he "died peacefully of natural causes."
"'Poppy' was a special man who was loved by his sons, his daughter-in-law Michel, and his six grandchildren," David Modell said. "Moreover, he was adored by the entire Baltimore community for his kindness and generosity. And, he loved Baltimore."
