    KNIGHT: Playing the race card before Election Day

    Is it racist to require people to show a photo ID when they vote? You need a photo ID for nearly any meaningful transaction, such as cashing checks, including government checks. If this simple requirement "suppresses" the vote, maybe we need to ask why it's such a great idea to push for universal suffrage for every adult who is merely breathing.

    532 charged in huge fraud crackdown, involving $10 billion

    A federal law-enforcement task force targeting financial fraud cases nationwide has led to charges against 532 criminal and civil defendants involving $10.4 billion in total losses for more than 120,000 victims, Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., announced on Monday.

    EDITORIAL: Holder is AWOL on military voting

    The Justice Department is living down to its reputation for not caring about protecting voting rights of military personnel. With 20 full-time attorneys supposedly on the task, it has failed to do as much for military voters as a ragtag team of volunteer law students has accomplished. The department's inaction is suspicious.
