How the government's punishing of the exposure of official wrongdoing can linger for years
The lights on Broadway will be dimmed Wednesday in honor of the late Oscar-winning actress Celeste Holm.

Celeste Holm, a versatile, bright-eyed blonde who soared to Broadway fame in "Oklahoma!" and won an Oscar for "Gentleman's Agreement" but whose last years were filled with financial difficulty and estrangement from her sons, died Sunday, a relative said. She was 95.
Her husband, Frank Basile, who had been with the actress for 13 years, said she died in the couple's bed.
"In her passing, I hope to continue that legacy," he said. "I hope to honor her name."
