Otto Porter scored 19 points and Georgetown held the Irish to a season-low 35 percent shooting, handing Notre Dame its third loss in four games.

Big East 2012-13 preview.
Heading into what could be Notre Dame's last season before joining the Atlantic Coast Conference, coach Mike Brey would like the Fighting Irish to take something with them as they prepare to leave the Big East: their first ever outright regular-season title.

Playing at home for the last time, seniors Jason Clark and Henry Sims combined for 25 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, and No. 11 Georgetown used its typically tough defense to beat No. 20 Notre Dame 59-41 in a key game for Big East tournament seeding.
Moe Harkless had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead St. John's to a 61-58 victory over No. 20 Notre Dame on Saturday, the Red Storm's first win over a ranked team in 11 games this season.
Maybe coach Mike Brey's biggest surprise during Notre Dame's nine-game winning streak was picking up a technical foul. Unhappy with a call as the Irish were negotiating their way through a physical stretch of play against West Virginia, Brey nearly lost his seat on the bench.
"We've just got to play better than that," Cooley said. "That was just not a good effort at all. We just can't start off halves really well and then slack off near the end. We have to keep up the intensity the entire second half."
Cooley said his experienced team must find a way to respond after getting "punched."
