Craig M. Burns took on the role of Virginia's tax commissioner Thursday after the sudden death of Tax Commissioner Janie Bowen on Tuesday.
Janie Bowen, Virginia tax commissioner, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, according to the Virginia Department of Taxation. Ms. Bowen was 56.
Police arrested a mother after she reportedly told officers she didn't want her children any longer.
