EJ Manuel completed 26 of 38 passes for 291 yards and accounted for two touchdowns, including a 9-yard run on the opening play of the fourth quarter as No. 13 Florida State was atop No. 16 Northern Illinois 24-10 at the Orange Bowl on Tuesday night.

The penultimate Bowl Championship Series gave college football a national championship matchup low on controversy and loaded with star power.
The Mid-American Conference championship game this year has a lot more at stake than usual.
"Definitely the best defense we played all year," Lynch said. "They were always in the right spot at the right time, it seemed like. They were hungry out there."
